§ 2916. Appointment
The commissioners may be appointed by the mayor and board of aldermen or city council
or by the selectboard of the town or by the trustees of the village, if the municipality
fails to elect or shall vote to authorize the mayor and board of aldermen or city
council or selectboard or trustees to appoint. If a vacancy occurs, it may be filled
by the legislative branch.
