§ 1731. Policy and purpose
The General Assembly recognizes the need to provide means by which physician assistants
may practice medicine in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals
to provide increased efficiency and to ensure that high-quality medical services are
available to all Vermonters at reasonable cost. The General Assembly recognizes that
physician assistants, with their education, training, and experience in the field
of medicine, are well suited to provide these services to Vermonters. (Added 1981, No. 100, § 1; amended 1985, No. 208 (Adj. Sess.), § 1, eff. June 30, 1986; 2019, No. 123 (Adj. Sess.), § 1.)
