State House Accessibility

The Vermont General Assembly is committed to making its building and its many programs, services, and activities accessible to staff and visitors with disabilities. The following services and programs exemplify the services provided to people of all ages and abilities at the Vermont State House. Please see the links below, or contact

All requests for services should be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the event/meeting, whenever possible. The General Assembly may not be able to provide accommodations requested less than 48 hours prior to an event/meeting.

 

 Captioning of Official General Assembly Events/Meetings

Official legislative meetings are livestreamed online. Automatically generated captions are typically available within 24-72 hours after the conclusion of the livestream. Streaming links are available here.

 

 Large Print

Large print documents are available upon request. Standard print/copy fees may apply.  

 

Assistive Listening

Mobile assistive listening stations are available upon request. 

 

Communications Access Real-time Translation (CART)

CART Services are available upon request for any official General Assembly event or meeting as an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

 

 American Sign Language Interpreting Services

American Sign Language interpreting services are available upon request for any official General Assembly event or meeting as an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act. 

 

Mobility Assistance Services

Mobility Assistance Services are available upon request. All Mobility Assistance Services are located at the Aiken Ave. entrance.
