Mission Statement
The Vermont Capitol Police Department predicates its mission and purpose based on community partnerships and service. We endeavor to protect the General Assembly – its members, employees, visitors, and facilities – so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe and secure environment.
Vision Statement
As an integral part of the legislative process and the Vermont law enforcement community, we are committed to becoming a model police organization for the state by continually advancing in the areas of leadership, training, technology, and the sound management of personnel and resources. To provide the most fair, just, and compassionate service, we are fully engaged in the continual evolution of the profession while providing a safe and comfortable atmosphere for all who enter the State House.
