§ 1578. Settlement with auditors and successor
The treasurer shall settle with the auditors five days previous to each annual town
meeting, and at such other times as the selectboard may require and whenever he or
she retires from office. At the close of his or her term of office he or she shall
immediately pay over to his or her successor the funds in his or her hands belonging
to the town and the town school district and at the same time deliver to his or her
successor all official books and papers in his or her possession.
