§ 1110. Posting of highways
(a) If the use of a town highway is to be restricted, the selectboard shall post copies
of the rules in at least two public places in the town. Posting signs provided by
the Agency informing the traveler of the restriction shall be conspicuously placed
at each end of the highway or portion of the highway. The Secretary shall be responsible
for furnishing notice of any restricted use of State highways.
(b) A person who violates these rules shall be guilty of a traffic offense under 23 V.S.A.
chapter 23, for which he or she shall be fined not more than $100.00, and shall be
liable to the State or town in which the damage is done for all damages to the highway
to be recovered in a civil action. (Added 1985, No. 269 (Adj. Sess.), § 1.)
