§ 483. Purposes and policy
In order to promote the public health, safety, and other aspects of the general welfare,
it is in the public interest to provide information about and help guide travelers
to public accommodations and services, other businesses, and points of scenic, historic,
cultural, educational, and religious interest. To provide that information, it is
the policy of the State and the purpose of this chapter:
(1) To establish means by which the traveling public may receive general and specific
travel information in a timely manner utilizing current marketing and technological
systems.
(2) To provide for the effective collection and distribution of travel information.
(3) To prohibit the indiscriminate use of other outdoor advertising. (Added 1967, No. 333 (Adj. Sess.), § 3; amended 1993, No. 121 (Adj. Sess.), § 4.)
