- I am of 1963 vintage, born in Newport, Vermont. It was then that I decided I wanted to be a dairy farmer.
Graduated from North Country Union High School in 1981 and earned an aptly titled B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Vermont in 1985.
I met Dr. Susan in 1990 and we were married in 1992; we are proud parents of Quinn and Sydney.
Served as the President of NEK Trout Unlimited; served as State Chairman of Ducks Unlimited; and serve on the VT Waterfowl Advisory Board.
I was chairman of the Derby Zoning Board and successfully negotiated the removal of the last billboard on Interstate 91.
I was Town Moderator for Derby for many years.
I have been on the NCUHS and NCUJHS School Board since 2010.
Own Nelson Farms VT LLC with my great partners, brother CY, nephew Dylan, and son Quinn.
I thoroughly enjoy hunting and fishing Vermont and other places.
I was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives in 2024 and currently serve in the House Agriculture, Food Resiliency, and Forestry Committee.
