Biography
WILLIAM “WILL” GREER was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on January 15, 2003. He resides in North Bennington with his closest friend, Jane, and their adorned feline, Bazil. Greer has two younger sisters who are equally interested in community service: Caroline (11) and Elizabeth (9). His mother operates the family’s fifth-generation sawmill in East Texas. His stepfather owns a land title insurance company and manages the family’s ranch in South Texas. His father owned a railroad contracting business for 31 years before retirement. Greer earned his B.A. from Bennington College in 2024 concentrating in Public Administration and Local Governance. Greer dedicated his thesis to studying rural policy in Vermont. Additionally, he has worked in the family’s insurance business and as a drug prevention organizer. Currently, Greer serves as a Justice of the Peace in the Town of Bennington (2023–Present) and High Bailiff of Bennington County (2025–Present). Formerly, he served as Vice Chair of the Community Policing Advisory Review Board in the Town of Bennington (2022–2024). Greer has received several awards for his community work: Southern Vermont Emerging Leader Award (2024), the Vermont Democratic Party’s Leahy Award (2024), Congressional Recognition of Invaluable Service from Rep. Gonzalez (D-TX) (2021), among other literature and civic honors. Greer is a devout Episcopalian and is a member of St. Peter’s Church in Bennington. He enjoys ice skating and writing letters to his family and friends around the world.
