She was also appointed in 2024 to be on the NCSL Military and Veterans Affairs Task Force. She earned a BA in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on human services and special populations from the University of Alabama’s New College program and an MS in occupational therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also completed postgraduate coursework in integrative medicine at George Washington University. Since 2020, she has served as an elected Justice of the Peace and works as an occupational therapist and substitute teacher in her local public schools. She holds positions on the boards of the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC), Leadership Champlain, and is a member of Vermont Professionals of Color. Deeply involved in the arts, Stone has performed with various local and statewide dance and theatre companies, including Ballet Vermont and Lyric Theatre. She has taken this love of the arts to her work on the Farmer’s Night Committee, bringing local art to the Vermont State House during the legislative session. Her leadership has been recognized through fellowships such as the Dolores Huerta and Barbara Jordan Women’s Leadership Fellowship, the Vermont Council on World Affairs Global Leaders Fellowship, The German Marshall Fund’s Transatlantic Inclusive Leaders Network fellowship, the Future Caucus Innovation Lab’s Strengthening Democracy, and Prenatal to Three programs. In May 2024, Rep. Stone was a keynote panelist at the Election Science, Research, and Administration Conference hosted by the USC Schwarzenegger Institute, discussing best practices in election administration. She resides in Burlington, Vermont, with her husband, Ryan, an Air Force Reserve pilot, and their rescued Aussiedoodle, Rigby Jane.
