Biography
EMILIE KRASNOW was born in Middlebury and raised in Charlotte, and she has proudly called South Burlington home since 2005. Emilie’s journey into civic engagement began at a young age, canvassing door-to-door at just seven years old when her father was first elected to the Vermont legislature. She pursued her passion for leadership and management at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business and later honed her skills as an EMILY’s List Fellow. Emilie is also a graduate of Emerge Vermont (‘22). Dedicated to fostering civic participation, she regularly presents at Vermont high schools and colleges. In addition to serving as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives since 2023, Emilie is the Vice Chair of the South Burlington Housing Trust Committee. She is actively involved in the South Burlington Rotary Club’s Community Service Committee and the South Burlington Library Foundation Volunteer Committee. Before her election, Emilie gained invaluable experience at the Vermont State House, working for over seven years as an assistant in both the Vermont Senate and the Lieutenant Governor’s office. Her commitment to community service includes volunteering with local food shelves, and affordable housing coalitions. Emilie is a passionate advocate for a wide range of issues, from climate solutions to social equity. She co-chairs the Working Vermonters Caucus and is an active participant in the Women’s Caucus, Future’s Caucus, Social Equity Caucus, and Older Vermonters Caucus. Outside of her legislative duties, Emilie enjoys Vermont’s natural beauty through trail walking and river swimming. She also nurtures her passions for music, writing, film, and organizing community events. Emilie values time spent with family and friends and is deeply engaged in political discourse.
Member of the House of Representatives: 2023-¬present.
