Biography
TROY HEADRICK of Burlington represents the Chittenden-15 district, a vibrant and diverse community that includes University of Vermont students, longtime residents, and individuals striving to build a walkable, thriving neighborhood close to work and play. Originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Troy earned a BS in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Colorado State University. Beginning in 1996. He has worked at the University of Vermont, where he currently serves as an Assistant Director at the Center for Student Conduct. His career also includes experience in municipal government and small business ownership. Troy is deeply committed to advancing equity and justice. He believes in the importance of critically examining and dismantling systems of privilege and power while working to repair the harm they’ve caused. As someone with roots in higher education, public service, and small business, he brings a pragmatic and reflective perspective to the Legislature. Outside his legislative work, Troy is an avid runner, a devoted fan of live music and the arts, and a former National Mustache Champion for the Dalí style—a title that reminds him not to take himself too seriously. He and his wife live in Burlington and are proud parents of two daughters, each of whom are successful graduates of the Burlington School District and the University of Vermont.
Member of the House of Representatives: 2023–present.
