Biography
CARL DEMROW of Corinth was born in Boston and raised in Andover, Massachusetts, where he attended public schools. In 1987, Demrow graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BA in Human Services. After college, he taught high school English in Beverly, Massachusetts and worked as a middle manager at a non-profit in northern New Hampshire before starting a trail management and consulting business and moving to Washington, Vermont in 2001. Demrow has also been a land conservationist, farmhand, and a carpenter. He is now a partner in a trail construction company that works throughout the Northeast. He wrote the “Tricks of the Trade” column for Northern Woodlands magazine for seven years, and was a volunteer firefighter in Jackson, NH for eight years. Demrow was a member of the Vermont House in the 2019–2020 biennium, and he is currently a member of the Corinth Selectboard. He also serves on the boards of the Clara Martin Center, the Blake Memorial Library, and Northeast Slopes, where he regularly volunteers as a lift operator. His previous board experience includes the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the Waterman Fund, and the Orange County Headwaters, which he also co-founded. He lives in Corinth with his partner, Tania Aebi.
