Biography
ERIN BRADY of Williston, Vermont was born in California and grew up primarily in Minnesota. She graduated from Colorado College in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. After graduating, she worked for U.S. Senator Mark Dayton (D-MN) for five years on education, environment and energy policy. She left Washington, D.C. to get her master’s degree and teacher licensure from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2006. Erin has been teaching social studies at Colchester High School since 2006 and was nationally recognized as Vermont’s history teacher of the year by the Gilder Lehrman Foundation in 2019. She also coordinates professional development at Colchester High School and is an adjunct instructor in the Graduate Education department at Saint Michael’s College. Erin has been a representative on the Champlain Valley School District Board since 2015.
Erin is passionate about public education, from early childhood through higher education, as an important means to create a more just and equitable society. That core value inspired her decision to leave the Senate to become a teacher and her decision to seek legislative office. Erin has been active in volunteer organizations in Minneapolis, Colorado Springs, Washington, D.C. and most recently with the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program and the Williston schools. Erin and her husband, Ted, have two school aged sons.
