- MARCIA R. MARTEL of Waterford, Caledonia County, Republican, is one of fourteen children from the family. She attended Barnet Elementary School and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy. Married to Roger, they moved to Waterford in 1970, have two daughters and five grandchildren. She worked at St. Johnsbury Trucking Company for 23 years until its closing in 1993, then worked for Quest Transportation for nine years and Sayles Funeral Home in St. Johnsbury as the office administrator for 10 years. In between working full time jobs she helped her husband build eight houses. She is a member of the St. Johnsbury Unit 58 American Legion Auxiliary since 1982 and a member of the newly organized Charlotte Fairbanks Federation of Republican Women. She has served the town of Waterford as an auditor, zoning administrator, lister and is currently serving as a Justice of the Peace and on the Board of Civil Authority and Board of Abatement.
