Biography
RUSS INGALLS is proud that his family roots began in America in 1628 as his descendants were the first settlers of Lynn, Ma. The Ingalls family were also one of the earliest known settlers of Vermont. Russ was the second-born of 4 boys and was raised traveling the world as his Father was a career Navy man. Born in Japan in 1964, some of the other places he lived were Cuba; Winter Harbor Maine; the Philippines; Montpelier, Vt; and Adak, Alaska. Upon his father’s retirement, Russ settled back in his home town of Irasburg where he attended 8th grade and went on to graduate high school from Lake Region Union in 1983. After high school, Russ had the opportunity to become a business partner of a dairy farm he worked and lived on while he attended high school. When the farm was unable to continue operation, Russ moved to Burlington and then to Brandon, Vt; but moved back to Irasburg in 1989 to work with his father in a dairy supply business. When that business was sold, Russ began a 20-year career in the automobile business, starting in sales. He rose to General Manager of the dealership where he first entered the business, all the while starting and selling a few businesses of his own, as well as investing in real estate. In 2009, Russ and a great friend, who had recently sold his business, started a real estate company. A few years later, they acquired another partner and her successful real estate business. That’s where RE/MAX All Seasons Realty was formed, which the 3 partners still operate today, with great success. Russ has always felt the call to help. His call to public service began when his beloved town of Irasburg had trouble keeping 3 members for any length of time on the selectboard. He was elected to two terms but, regretfully, had to resign when he purchased his current residence in Newport, making him unable to continue for the town. He was proud that he could be part of a diverse group of people who accomplished so much by choosing to work together for the benefit of the community. Deciding in 2020 that the Northeast Kingdom could use a stronger voice to represent them, Russ ran for the Senate in a crowded field of 5 people and was able to secure one of two seats by talking about the need of making sure any decision he would make would put Vermonters first, namely his constituents. Besides being a top producer in real estate, Russ spends any free time with his fiancé, Deb, and their families and friends. He prefers to be outdoors at every opportu
