Biography
MICHAEL NIGRO of Bennington, Bennington County, was raised in upstate New York. He received a BA in Political Science and an MBA. Michael worked in behavior health for 10 years, most recently as the director of a residential facility for teenagers in Rhode Island. After moving to Vermont, he spent eight years as the director of a Medicare-certified home healthcare agency serving Bennington County and northern Berkshire County, MA. In 2019, Michael devoted himself to working full-time in his wife and his catering/concessions business, which serves large festivals and corporate events throughout the Northeast. He is a member and past-president of the Bennington Rotary, a former board member of Bennington Project Independence, an active member of the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce, a member of Elks Lodge #567, and a former member of the Bennington Young Professionals. In his spare time, Michael enjoys work as an event emcee and a performance storyteller. His wife, Sarah Perrin, is co-owner of Green Mountain Concessions, manages rental properties, and sits on the Bennington Select Board.
