- JAMES A.R. GREGOIRE of Fairfield, Franklin County, Republican was born in St. Albans, Vermont in 1974. He grew up in Fairfield and was educated at Fairfield Center School. He is a 1992 graduate of B.F.A. St Albans.
He furthered his education earning an A.S. in Business Management and an A.S in Accounting at CCV as well as a B.A. in Secondary Education, an M.
Ed in Curriculum & Instruction and an M. Ed in Educational Leadership from UVM. James is the second member of his high school graduating class to serve in the House of Representatives. Married to Courtney in 2014 and a son James Jr. who is a member of the Vermont Air National Guard.
Occupation: Convenience Store owner/operator. He served in the U.S. Army from 1992 to 1997 and in the Vermont National Guard from 1997-2005.
Since 2003 he has been a Lister for the Town of Fairfield and served on the Planning and Zoning Commissions for nine years. He is also a past board member of the Fairfield Community Center. He was Commander of American Legion Post 1 in St. Albans for two terms, 1st Vice Commander for two terms and 2nd Vice Commander for three terms. He served on the American Legion Department of Vermont Education Committee. Legislative Committee and Boy’s State Committee. He served on the Governor’s Veteran’s Advisory Council and as an alternate to the District 6 Environmental Commission under Governor Jim Douglas.
