- BRIAN SMITH - I was born in Newport and have lived in Derby all of my life. I graduated from North Country Union High School in 1969. I also served in the U.S. Navy and attended business school in Boston for one year. I started selling automobiles for Mulkin Corporation in 1978 and have spent the last ten years at Key Auto Sales in Newport. For the past nineteen years I have served on the Town of Derby Selectboard with eight of those years as Chair. I am a member of Northeast Kingdom Learning Services (NEKLS) Board of Directors. I am proud to say that I am in my second term in the Vermont House and currently serving on the House Committee on Health Care. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, and backwoods snowmobiling (off-trail). I have recently purchased a boat for Lake Memphremagog and am looking forward to next summer. I look forward to serving my district to the very best of my ability and I thank my constituents for the opportunity.
