- Sam Young, of Greensboro, is the State Representative for Orleans-Caledonia district, which includes the towns of Albany, Barton, Craftsbury, Greensboro, Glover, Sheffield and Wheelock. He was first elected in 2010 and is serving his fifth term in office. He spent four years on the Commerce and Economic Development committee and currently serves on the House Ways & Means committee. He grew up in Glover and Barton and attended Barton Academy and Lake Region Union High School. He went to the University of Vermont where he was a member of the Lawrence Debate Union and to Prescott College in Arizona. He first entered Vermont politics by running for Governor in 2008 as an independent. He enjoys engaged and informed political discourse, X-C skiing, swimming, wood-fired hot tubs, riding his motorcycle, Vermont culture and a good pun. An avid traveller, he has traveled to 48 states and 22 countries. His partner, Heidi Lauren Duke, owns and runs the Highland Lodge in Greensboro.
