- BRIAN SMITH - I have lived in Derby, Vermont, all my life (so far). I grew up listening to Montpelier stories from my dad who served in the House and in the Senate. He retired as Sergeant at Arms in 1994. I graduated from North Country Union High School. I served in the U.S. Navy. I attended business school in Boston for one year before returning home. I started working for Mulkin Automative as a car salesman and worked there for 31 years, and for the last eight I have been employed at Key Auto Sales in Newport. I have served on the Town of Derby selectboard for 17 years with the last eight years as chair. I also serve on the Board of Directors for NEKLS (NorthEast Kingdom Learning Services) and have done so for eight years. My fun time is spent at my hunting camp in Morgan either hunting, fishing, or backwoods snowmobiling (off trail). I am looking forward to serving my district to the very best of my ability.
