- MICHAEL SIROTKIN of South Burlington, Chittenden County, Democrat. Educated in public Schools of Queens, New York , Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania (1970), and University of Denver, College of Law (1975). Staff Attorney Vermont Legal Aid (1976-1982); Co- director VT Senior Citizens Law Project (1980-1982); Partner, Mickenberg Dunn Sirotkin and Dorsch law firm (1982-1998); Founding partner Sirotkin and Necrason, PLC, Governmental and Public Affairs law firm (1999-2014). Advocated at the Vermont State House for over 30 years on behalf of numerous consumer, environmental, housing, professional, and working family organizations. Appointed to Vermont Senate February 2014, replacing late wife of 35 years, beloved Senator Sally Fox, who passed away on January 10, 2014, after 17 years of legislative service. They have two adult sons. Appointed to Senate Agriculture and Institutions Committees and the Joint Health Care Oversight Committee for the balance of 2014 session, and was elected to continue to represent Chittenden County in the Vermont Senate for the 2015- 2016 biennium. Served on Town of Essex Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment and South Burlington Development Review Board and Red Rocks Committee. Justice of the Peace and Member South Burlington Board of Civil Authority. Past member of Vermont Medicaid Advisory Board and Department on Aging Advisory Board. Current board member of Hunger Free Vermont.
