Biography
MARY A. MORRISSEY of Bennington, Bennington County Republican, was born in Bennington, Vermont, and is serving her 11th term as a State Representative and 13th term as Justice of the Peace. Board of Director: Bennington Chamber of Commerce (since 2010); Green Mt. Public Transit (since 2007); Center for Restorative Justice (since 2003); Bennington Project Independence Adult Day Care (since 2003); Cancer Center Community Crusaders (since 2013); American Red Cross (1987-2009); Vermont Girl Scout Council (2002-2010); Hospice (2002-2009); Homeless Shelter (2004-2009); Relay for Life (1998-2013); Health Care Alliance Board (2011-2013). Member of: Catamount Rotary (since 1993); Chamber of Commerce (since 2003); Board of Civil Authority (since 1991); American Legion Auxiliary (since 2000); Elks Club (since 2000); Fraternal Order of Eagles (since 2004); Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary (since 2014); SVMC Auxiliary (since 2000); Big Brothers Big Sisters (since 2005); Bennington Museum and Historical Society (since 1998). Honors: Recipient of two Paul Harris Fellowships (1997 and 2007); Chamber Community Service Award (2006); BPW Woman of the Year; Walloomsac Society Award, Bennington Museum (2009); Volunteer of the Year Award (local and state awards 1996); SWVMC 2002 Excellence Quest Award; Bennington Fire Department Citizen of the Year Award and Grand Marshall/Parade Dedication (2004); Red Cross Volunteer Award (2003); Community Hero Award (2004); Vermont Boy Scout Council Distinguished Citizen Award (2007); Selected by ACYPL to represent the United States in Japan Economic/Education Exchange (1997); House Member 1997-present.
