Biography
WARREN VAN WYCK (Wike) of Ferrisburgh, Addison County (District 3), Republican, was born in Paterson, New Jersey, on October 25, 1952. He graduated from Calvin College (Grand Rapids, Michigan) in 1974 and from Colorado State University (Fort Collins, Colorado) in 1976 with a MS in mathematics. He has lived in Ferrisburgh since 1978 when he commuted to Montpelier working as a Computer Programmer for the State Information Systems Department. From 1980-1987, he was a Computer Programmer Analyst at UTC Aerospace Systems in Vergennes. Since 1987 he has worked for the University of Vermont as a Computer Analyst Programmer. In 1984 he married the former Jeanette Beenen, the daughter of West Ferrisburgh dairy farmers. He and his wife have five sons and a daughter, born 1985 to 1995, who all live in Addison County. Warren has volunteered as a board member for a local private school. He has served on a local church board, lead a Boy Scouts-type group and taught adult Sunday School. He serves as the Chair of the Ferrisburgh Town Republican Committee was the Assistant Treasurer of the Addison County Republican Committee. He was appointed to the House on February 7, 2013 by Governor Shumlin due to the untimely death of former Rep. Greg Clark of Vergennes on November 30, 2012, after being elected to his sixth term.
