The Cavassing Committee, required by Vt. Const. Ch. II, § 47, canvasses the votes for the statewide offices and reports the results to the General Assembly for adoption in Joint Assembly. Joint Rule 24 provides that the Canvassing Committee comprises one Senator and three Representatives from each senatorial district. Pursuant to 2022, Act 89 (reapportionment), there are 16 senatorial districts, which are described in 17 V.S.A. § 1881.
