ANNE T. O'BRIEN of Richmond, Chittenden County, Democrat, was born in Northampton, Massachusetts, on January 27, 1956, and became a resident of St. Albans, Vermont, a few weeks later. She is a lifelong Vermont resident and has resided in Richmond since 1984. Occupation: Health Care Clinical Consultant. Anne also owns a small business called Sweet Hearts of Vermont which produces 100% pure maple candy hearts for weddings and events. She was educated at Champlain Valley Union High School in Hinesburg, Vermont, the University of Vermont (BSN 1982) and St. Michael's College (MS 1992). Her career has included working as a Visiting Nurse, Director of Quality, Executive Director and founding member of the Vermont Council for Quality, Extension Faculty at UVM, and as a health care administrator and consultant. While at UVM she was a member of UVM Faculty Senate and served on the Curricular Affairs Committee. She has done clinical consulting on the electronic health record. Anne has served on a variety of boards in the past, including the founding boards of the Vermont Human Resource Investment Council and the Vermont Council for Quality. She has served on the Richmond Board of Civil Authority and is currently a member of the Richmond Economic Development Committee. She is a founding board member and secretary of the Richmond Community Senior Center Board. She has three adult children, Rebecca, Josiah, and Luke, who live, work, and own businesses in Vermont.
