- Senator Benson is a professional engineer, graduate of Vermont Technical College and a long serving public servant for the town of Brookfield. Past and present service includes Brookfield Selectboard, Town Fire Department Chief, Emergency Management Coordinator, 911 Coordinator and FEMA coordinator. Senator Benson was a managing partner for DuBois & King, Inc., in Randolph until his retirement in 2021. Senator Benson’s community engagements include member of the Vermont Society of Engineers, Governance Board, VTtrans Committee on Stormwater treatment, ANR Committee on updating the on-site Environmental Protection Rules (onsite WW), VTC AB program advisory committee, Capital Mutual Aid District officer, regional fire School committee member, Little League Assistant Coach, volunteer at the Randolph Elementary School, contributor to the new Town Garage Building, Town Office building improvements and a new fire truck. Senator Benson’s awards include VT Engineer of the Year 2018, Article in Civil + Structural Engineering on the Rutland Regional Airport Runway safety project. He has been married for 50 years and raised 2 sons, a certified welder and shop Forman for DMS of Barre.
