- JOSIE LEAVITT came to Vermont in 1996 when she started the Flying Pig Bookstore in Shelburne. She is currently Vice Chair of the Grand Isle Selectboard and a board member of the Champlain Islands Food Shelf. Josie has a Master of the Arts Degree in the Teaching of English from Columbia University. When not working in the Legislature, Josie can be seen throughout the State performing stand up comedy and storytelling. Josie lives in Grand Isle with her partner and their rescue dog, Allie.
