School Field Trips

School Field Trips

A visit to the State House can be an exciting learning experience for students of all ages.  Students walk through one of the nation’s oldest and best preserved state capitols, learn the history of Vermont, and enter the House and Senate chambers.  Elementary students enjoy learning the basics of the legislative process during the tour, while middle school and older students focus on the process in more depth.  A role play tour, requiring pre-visit classroom work, is also available to middle school and older students.

In addition to the State House Tour, consider visiting the Vermont Historical Society’s Museum and the Supreme Court.
